Guidelines for using poliigon assets.

Poliigon assets are royalty-free. This means that, after downloading assets, you are not required to pay further royalty fees and you may use those assets in multiple projects, forever, even if you cancel your subscription.

How and who can use your assets is determined by your license, we've provided a summary below, but for complete information see our terms and conditions.

What license do I have?

The licenses available for Poliigon assets are listed below.

There are some use cases not permitted in any license covered in What can't I do with Poliigon assets?

Free License

This license lets anyone use our free assets on personal or commercial projects.

Commercial License (Individual)

This license lets an individual use Poliigon assets on personal or commercial projects.

It's intended for individual professionals, such as freelancers and those working on their own projects. It can't be used by anyone working at an organization with multiple people and you can't share, sell, license, redistribute, or repackage our assets with anyone.

Commercial License (Business)

Previously Team License

This license lets teams, studios, and businesses use Poliigon assets on commercial projects.

With this license, you can share Poliigon Assets with anyone inside your business, but you can't share assets externally or across entities within a corporate group.

Enterprise License

Previously Custom License

For enterprise users, the license can be completely customized to meet your organization's needs even to include permission for restricted use cases covered in What can't I do with Poliigon assets?

What can I do with Poliigon assets?

All Poliigon assets can be used for personal, education or commercial use as part of your own unique creations in 2D or 3D for architectural and product visualizations, advertising, games, movies, tv shows, web design and printed media.

What can't I do with Poliigon assets?

We spend a great deal of time, money and effort building our assets, so there are a number of restrictions on their use:

  1. You can't share, sell, license, redistribute or repackage our assets with anyone not named on your account even if they've been modified, directly or indirectly.

    1. This includes baked textures

    2. This includes providing scene files to clients/others with Poliigon assets in a whole or easily extractable state

    3. This includes sharing assets with others in your team/company if they're not listed as a user on your account.

  2. You can't use our assets in design software or games where the users have direct or indirect access to the assets for uses such as designing rooms, buildings, levels or scenes.

  3. You can't use our assets in any form of Machine Learning (ML) or Artificial Intelligence (AI) models, neural networks or applications.

  4. You can't use our assets to create a logo, trademark or copyright of any kind.

Additional FAQ

Can I use Poliigon assets even after I cancel my subscription?

Yes, you can continue to use Poliigon assets even if you cancel your subscription but the above license conditions still apply.

Can I use Poliigon assets in work licensed via Creative Commons/Open Source Software, game mods, game maps or game add-ons?

These use cases make it possible for others to access Poliigon assets and therefore is not allowed as per our terms and conditions.

Can I modify textures and sell them as my own or can I use textures to create a shader and sell the shader?

Unfortunately no. This is considered redistribution or competitive use and is not allowed as per our terms and conditions.

Can I embed Poliigon textures or models in my model or scene that I sell or redistribute?

Unfortunately no. Baking textures or embedding models and textures is considered redistribution or competitive use and is not allowed as per our terms and conditions.
