Building Facade Materials

Documentation on Poliigon's new building facade materials

In 2026 Poliigon has released new building facade materials. Documentation on these materials can be found below:

Scale, Resolution & Texel Density

Building facade materials are around 24x24m scans of entire building faces. These materials are offered up to 16k (16384x16384). Asset pages for building facades will contain updated descriptions, including the new texture resolution and texel density information.

Texture Maps

In addition to the standard PBR maps shipped with our 2.5m materials, these materials will include the following maps:

AI Emission Map

Defines areas of the surface that appear self‑lit, using an AI‑generated pattern to fake internal glow such as lights, screens, or signage.

Identified as files ending with _Emission. Available in JPG, PNG, TIFF file formats.

ID Map

Defines color‑coded masks to isolate regions of the surface for quick color or material changes.

Identified as files ending with _ID. Available in JPG, PNG, TIFF file formats.

Usage

When working with these materials, it's important to note that default displacement values differ from our 2.5m materials. When these materials are imported using any of our software plugins, you may find displacement is very low by default, so manual adjustment may be needed to suit your scene.
