Using displacement textures in 3DS Max with Corona

A 3DS Max/Corona tutorial on properly using the displacement textures in Poliigon materials.

Updated over 3 years ago

We have some great photoscanned ground materials in our library and in this video I'll show you how to make the most of them in 3DS Max with Corona.

Steps

  • Import a Poliigon material using the material converter.

  • Add a CoronaDisplacementMod modifier via the modifier stack

  • Disconnect the displacement map from the shader and instead drag a connection over to the texture input within the CoronaDisplacementMod.

  • Adjust strength via the Min and Max levels and the amount of subdivision via the subdivision quality controls.

If needed, you can watch our other video, Using Poliigon materials in 3DS Max with Corona prior to this video.
