Using Poliigon assets in Archicad (Updated 2026)

This article will teach you how to import textures, models and HDRIs from Poliigon into Archicad version 29

Archicad Support

Archicad supports most of Poliigons textures, models and HDRIs. Note that Archicad also supports Enscape for rendering and asset management. If you wish to import using Enscape, see the guide here.

  • Textures: Partial PBR Texture Support

  • Models: .FBX Support

  • HDRIs: .HDR support

How to set your Poliigon Download Settings for Archicad

To ensure you get the correct files in your downloads you'll need to check your download settings.

To access download settings go to My Account (top right) > Download Settings.

Make sure "other" software is selected. That's it! You'll now get the right files on every download.

How to import Poliigon Models into Archicad

To import Poliigon Models into Archicad just follow these steps:

  1. Make sure your Download Settings are configured

  2. Go to File > Libraries and Objects > Import FBX as GDL Object, then navigate to your .FBX file you downloaded, and confirm to add to the embedded library

  3. To place the object, go to Design > Architectural Tools > Object

  4. Ensure the correct model is selected, then click to place in your scene

How to import Poliigon PBR Textures into Archicad

  1. Go to Options > Surfaces

  2. Select an library material similar to the one you'd like to import, then click New > Duplicate, then confirm. Give your new material a distinct name.

  3. Start by adding the Basecolor map to the Color input. click the dots icon to open a popup, then navigate to your texture folder.

  4. Next add the Roughness map to the roughness texture slot, under the Reflectance input

  5. Add the Normal map to the Normal input.

  6. Poliigon's Displacement map can be used in the Bump input

How to import Poliigon HDRIs into Archicad

  1. To add an HDRI, first click the PhotoRendering Settings

  2. Under the Environment > Sky Setup section, select HDRI Sky

  3. Click Browse, then navigate to your downloaded Poliigon HDRI file.
